Following the provisions mode in Paragraph 2(i) of the Hong Kong

University (Medical Degrees) Order in Council issued on the 6th ectouer, 1945

a copy of which is attached for reference - 1 am directed by

Mr. Secretary Hall to sppoint you to hold office on the University of Hong Kong Medical Degrees Emergency Committee for the purpose of exercising certain of the powers of the Senate and the Chancellor as prescribed by the Hong Kong University Ordinance 1911 and the Hong Kong Regulations (1937 Raition) The limitation of the powers of this Committee are described in Paragraph 3 of the attached Order, to which Mr. Hall wishes me to invite your particular attention.

2. Since it is anticipated that it will not be necessary for the Committee to sit more than two or three times, and that its existence will not be of
